When you find that it's rainy and your kids are bored, then you are left with the decision of what to do to keep your kids entertained. You might dread rainy days a little bit, because your kids will feel restless. However, there are lots of kids activities for you to engage in so that you can keep the kids occupied and having lots of fun indoors rather than having fun days out.
You can do so many things indoors on a rainy day, you will discover that there will be more to partake in indoors then outside! Start with the kitchen. The kitchen holds so many things for your kids to do. They can help you to bake rainy day treats, such as cookies, or rice treats. The kids will have so much fun nibbling on chocolate chips, or they can have fun getting their hands sticky when they are making rice and marshmallow treats. They will learn recipes and baking skills as well. While you and the kids are waiting for your treats to bake, you can keep them busy at the kitchen table with arts and crafts. You can do this by laying out sheets of papers. They can draw on the paper with crayons. Or, they can make crafts on the paper with dried noodles. They can simply glue on pieces of elbow pasta, to make anything that their imagination tells them to!
You could also take some tin foil roasting pans or plastic bowls, fill them up with rice or with dried beans, and let your kids pretend that they are a sandbox. They can take their fingers, and draw designs in the rice. Or, they can have lots of fun playing with the dried beans. Kids will love the texture of the beans in their hands. They will probably burry their hands under the beans.
You could also watch DVDs for kids with them. This is the perfect rainy day thing to do while you and the kids are snacking on the treats that you baked. Or, you could pop some popcorn, as this is the perfect movie day snack as well. If your kids are bored of their movies, then you can have them get really creative, and put on a talent show for everyone. The kids would have to get dressed up, and sing and dance to entertain everyone.
Then again, the kids could always partake in activities that are a bit quieter. They could read books. Many kids love to read, especially books that are very popular, such as the Harry Potter books are.
Just because it's raining outside, this doesn't mean that the kids can't have a great time. The fact is that kids can have more creative fun when it's raining. You'll have just as much fun planning all of their activities.
