Zipper Piercing Is Totally Unreal

By Maria Grant

The photograph of the zipper piercing that is adorning the web right now is fake, but the concept is very real. It shows a split tongue that is decorated with a closure that makes it appear as if it could zip up when desired. The amount of views the picture has will likely lead to the development of practices and technology that could make the procedure very real.

Body manipulation or alteration is a very old practice. Most commonly known in the form of tattoos, which have been reported in archeology to date back 24,000 years, body art has been reported historically and culturally all over the world.

The decoration of the body has existed for many reasons over the years. It has been used as a symbol of status, success in battle, spirituality, and artistic ideals and principles. There is an unending possibility to the forms that this art can take, especially in modern society. The possibilities widen when you reflect that the culture of bodily decoration exists as a culture within the greater one. As a result of this you may find widely different aspects to methods and images in any region in which you travel.

Contemporary societies tend to see it as an art form, or a way to express art on the skin. Many people feel that altering their bodies give them a way to express their ideas of the culture in which they live, or just give them a way to display the images, or decorations they love on a daily basis.

This type of art is more common today than ever. Around a sixth of the population is decorated with tattoos, while the amount of pierced is much higher. Most commonly the ears are pierced, though other areas are becoming more common for puncture as time goes on. It's a growing world of people that choose to enjoy minor to extreme body manipulation.

If you take a look at the picture online that is reported to be fake, you can see the possibility of the procedure. It looks real because it looks possible. It will likely become a reality soon, and real pictures will be there to be enjoyed. The addition of a zipped opening could be applied to any part of the body if the right surgeon is used. There are an infinite number of locations and types of decor from which you could choose.

If you are curious if a body zipper is for you, perhaps a trip to your local piercer or some internet research could help. Currently if the practice is being done it is not being well advertised, but with some success and no complications, you could soon have one installed somewhere you never thought possible.

Zipper installation is not quite a real thing yet, but it will come soon. Where there is an idea, the practice often follows. So get ready to see some new images, and hope that you can enjoy one in person someday.
